Let's Go Blackberry Picking...

If you’re stuck for something to do this weekend how about blackberry picking? The hedgerows are abundant this year, blackberries are good for you, they’re free and you get exercise traipsing up and down the hedgerows, triple bonus! Blackberries are a rich source of manganese, vitamins C and K and many other phytonutrients. Combined, these nutrients help prevent disease, create new tissue and bone, reduce blood pressure, reduce inflammation and may even lower the risk of certain cancers.

And, of course, if you happen to pick the odd insect along with the berries, well that’s extra protein too…
